Prior Notification for Commercial Extension

Objective:

To achieve permission for a commercial building extension under Permitted Development Rights.

Proposal:

We have recently secured permission for a commercial building extension on a farm in Uttlesford under Permitted Development Rights. This has allowed the extension of the building to enable the current tenants to expand their current operations with obvious benefits to both tenant and owner. By taking this route, the full planning route has been avoided with associated surveys, consultations with outside agencies and neighbours.

Local Planning Authority:

Uttlesford District Council

What the consultant Says

By choosing a permitted development route, it avoids consultation to the public and more importantly to statutory consultees such as English Heritage Place Services Ecology, Highways etc. We overcame design constraints to achieve a useable space. In this instance, an additional 160msq of commercial space was permitted. The benefits of the additional space are obvious to both the occupants of the building and owner.
