Hay Storage Barn

Objective:

The client’s aim was to achieve planning for a new agricultural building to store hay via permitted development.

Proposal:

To prepare an application on behalf of the client for a second agricultural building. Their current building stores machinery and hay, as well as acts as a workshop. The combination of hay storage and workshop created a significant fire safety risk for our client and their staff. Likewise, the limited area for hay storage meant our client had to sell their crop straight from the field, resulting in the lowest price being achieved. Once permission was granted, our client had a safer workspace and the ability to store their crop and sell it during the winter months when demand and prices are at their highest.

Local Planning Authority:

Braintree District Council

What the consultant Says

The client experienced topographical issues with the siting of the barn which needed to be overcome with the design of drainage.
